EE Notifications

Does anybody know when we'll receive an EE notification from Wellesley? Is it mid-or end of Feb?

I hope they come mid-Feb too!
We just sent out my midyear report yesterday, so my app should be complete pretty soon

lucky! ours won't be done until the 2nd week of February so that's why I'm worried

Doesn't it say on their website that midyear reports are supposed to be postmarked by Feb 15? So does that mean EE decisions would be a couple of weeks after that?

EE decisions come out the same time as Regular decision :)

oops. Sorry, I meant likely letters :]

oh, lol, not sure, i'm guessing mid or the end of february but then again, it might depend when your mid-year report gets sent to them (my mid-year report will probably be sent mid-february so i'm guessing that they'll send me an EE letter late of feb or early march)

what would be the point of EE if the decisions come out the same time as regular decision? I read that they are postmarked sometime between the 15th-20th.

Likely letters.

yup, exactly :)

stillll confused

if you applied EE, two weeks earlier than RD, they speed-read your app and send you a letter in february saying that admission is either "likely", "possible", or "unlikely". even though you won't get the official decision until march like everyone else, these "likely letters" are an indicator as to what the decision will probably be. i would imagine that they then read your app more closely just to verify what they had predicted.

it's kind of like early action only minus the decisiveness.

Just dropping in to give props to Wellesley...I think EE is one of the most humane admissions policies of any college. If you get a "Likely" or "Unlikely" letter, you can get on with your life. (If you get a "possible," then you're no worse off than anyone else.)

For my D it came down to Smith vs. Wellesley and she chose Smith is very happy with that decision. But will always have a soft spot for Wellesley in my heart due to the EE letters and there's still a "Wellesley '08" magnet on our refrigerator.

i wish i could go to the big W so badly, lol, what else can i do at this moment to improve my chances? do they actually read updates if we e-mail it to them?

They probably do, but I think they've already started reviewing so you should hurry.

I finally got a letter in the mail from them saying they started to review apps and likely letters will be sent out at the end of February! Did anyone else get it yet?

I got that letter yesterday..I had to explain it to my parents who thought the whole EE thing was ridiculous.. :)

same here, lol but my parents thought that it was nice of Wellesley to have this option

Would anyone know where I could find admission results for EE? For example how many were actually admitted from the "Likely", and " Possible" EE notification in previous years.

not sure either but if u look back at last year's threads, it seems to imply that "likely" applicants are virtually 100% in, possibly is 1/6 to 25%, and unlikeley is almost none

i saw somewhere
likely - 98%
possible - 25%
unlikely - 1% ?
goooood luck
