Early Evaluation

I know that for Early Evaluation the admissions officers look at your first quarter grades for your senior year. Do they also look at your first semester grades or don't they get them soon enough?

Most of the EE applications are looked at during the month of January. If your grades were available at the end of December or mid-January and were sent to Wellesley, they were probably considered. If not, then they weren’t.

when do applicants hear back from “early evaluation?”

I want to say it’s mid-February. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though.

Final decisions come out with RD decisions at the end of March.

It’s the end of February, about the 22nd. In about a week or two early evaluation applicants should receive an email telling them the exact date.

I think they want the first semester grades in as soon as possible, though. My counselor told me today that they called asking her to fax my midyear report ASAP.

x501—what part of the country?

EE letters are posted at the end of February right? Because when Wellesley acknowledged my application, they said something about decisions being released after March 12th, which really confused me. I think they might have been referring to the official decisions…

Wellesley called my counselor on the 25th as well, asking for my midyear report. Ours don’t come out until Feb 2nd, but they told her to fax the report card I got last marking period over.

collegesgirl - I am on the east coast.

pumpkinpie - I am also confused. I really hope they were referring to the official letters; I don’t think I can wait that long… haha

Final letters definitely go out after March 12 (and by the end of March, everyone should have received their decision).

does anyone know the acceptance percentage rate for EE applicants? it can’t be as high as ED…right?

thanks! i read that a while ago, but i wasnt satisfied with the answer haha
i was kind of shocked to see how high EE acceptances are because EE is not binding like ED is

just wondering if anyone else knows something about the stats

So was I! But I’m not really complaining haha

I’m also interested in more stats if they’re available… such as about how many people apply EE each year.

yeah exactly! it’s so hard to find the breakdown of rates…but oh well. maybe it’s better that i don’t know–i would be freaking out if it were bad news!

i think numbers of applicants are somewhere on the admissions website --i remember seeing them when i applied though that was four years ago so it may have changed

Hey,
So is Wellesley your first choices? It’s definitely on the top of my list- the students seem so interesting and friendly!

wellesley does give out pretty detailed stats on their website, but i don’t remember seeing the EE numbers. i’ll check again!

yesss wellesley is definately a top choice! i went to junior open campus last year and loved it!

Wellesley is absolutely my number one choice, but I’m convinced I’m not good enough (it’s a reach for me)… thought I would try my chances by applying anyway bc I love Wellesley!
