EE UCSD or Purdue?

From the rankings, it shows that all engineering majors is better in Purdue, except biomed.
However, the overall school ranking shows that UCSD is much higher than Purdue. Maybe its due to the problem of the money, Purdue is declining. I have heard from others that the EE program in Purdue is the best, it seems that UCSD is just too young.
Anyway, the weather and the location of SD is so wonderful. And there's more needs of these jobs in CA.
I am also decide to transfer to Galtech or Stanford,so maybe I would not finish my bachelor degree in purdue or ucsd.
Could you offer me some suggestions?

There‘s no doubt that u should choose Purdue!

I am currently study EE in SD, and my cousin study it in Purdue. The difference in ranking in the major is significant, the department of EE in SD is too small compared that of Purdue. If you want to come to SD, just choose Biomedical Eng, SD doing well in this area. I am going to transfer to Purdue this fall. Although the silicon valley is in Cal, it seems even much harder for international students to find a job here,u will just be consider as non-U.S, there’s none of SD’s biz. And the professors focus more on researches, not a good situation to learn things as an undergraduate student.
I had taken Purdue’s EE class for about one month, much harder and exciting than SD. Maybe the difficult course make Purdue’s drop rate very high in Eng,then make the ranking low. US news uses the methodology which depends on the retention rate.
My cousin told me that the job fair in Purdue is frequent, part-time job, interships are all very easy to find. And most of his class have excellent internship, just like known, Purdue students are preferred by the Eng industry. Because the teaching style is more practical, they know how to deal with real things. As Purdue is near Chicago, the president Obama is moving the centre of America there, more chances for students in Purdue.
The weather in Cal will make u very lazy…trust me,the professors in SD seems like on vocation. Purdue is also beautiful, without ocean just.

Hope to see u this fall!!!

Thank u !however I’m not an international…neither cal resident, anyway seems the same. I had a talk with a professor in SD these days, he also suggest me go study in Purdue. From him, SD is not good at teaching. No foundation,no development. And the companies in Cal like recuit students from UCB Stan CIT for EE. SD is strong in communication technology research for EE area, which I’m not interested in.
