Effect of Interview?

I requested an interview back around December 15th and quickly received the email telling me to contact my interview coordinator. So I emailed her... and waited... and waited... and waited. I decided not to say anything again until after holiday break.

So then I emailed again asking the status of the interview what not and once again received no reply.

Then I emailed the admissions office and they told me to try and contact her again but to email them in a week if she did not reply. I called and left her a message and again, nothing.

I emailed the admissions office and then someone (Director?) replied saying she was trying to get in contact with my coordinator. This was almost a week ago. At this rate I really don't see myself getting an interview... which worries me because Wellesley is definitely a top choice for me.

So I was wondering, how is a lack of interview going to affect me?

It almost certainly won’t affect you negatively. Your showing of interest and your pursuit of the issue with the admissions office will be in your file, however, and that will be viewed positively. There’s no harm (to a point) in continuing to express your desire to get an interview or some other interaction with admissions. If you become annoying, it could become a negative, but it is widely understood that the admissions office wants to see expressions of interest.

I guess I will try again next week. And that’s exactly what I am worried about… I don’t want to seem annoying! Honestly I just want to call my interview coordinator every two minutes until she picks up. Thank you!

^^Checking back once a week is far from excessive, or annoying.
