My sophomore year, I had 2 deaths in my family, which caused a dip in my grades.

I am applying to less competitive schools as well. U Penn is just my favorite School of Nursing.

So you're doing Penn nursing RD?
I'd say do your best to pull up your grades, but you have a good chance since you're a minority within a minority (african american male) that is applying to nursing, plus you seem to be well capable. Good luck!

Oh, and don't settle yourself for lower schools just because your GPA maybe a little too low for penn. Aim high, if those doesn't work you always have the "lower schools." But really, I think Penn will accept you if you write some good essays and have good reccs.

Perky,
I would never bash AA, just the system in place that would make AA necessary at all.

Then I guess the United States isn't really working, is it?

I can read very well Eloquence, but I'm having difficulty understanding exactly where you're coming from. Are you asking me about my views on America and the way it's run? If you are, I'd rather not have a big discussion, but I've made plenty of posts regarding the issue of race and racism in America. Feel free to do a little HW and check some of them out.

Well, I'm coming from where you said you'd bash the system that would make AA necessary - I think America in itself kinda makes it necessary, the scale where it's needed, if at all anyways, is a debate for another time so let's just leave it at that

I actually think we're on the same page. That's why, without being sarcastic, I asked you to check out some of my previous posts. Definitely don't want to argue.

:) thanks for your suggestions
