Great Rec's & Essays (Including 1 from a known Georgetown Professor)

that just isn't true. in years past, nhs has had a higher acceptance rate than the other branches of g-town, but since a spike in applications it's just about even at 20% all around.

Working in your favor:
URM status
Low income family
Upward grade trend
Rigorous courses
Good EC's
Good ACT

Working against you:
Low class rank (relative to G-town, don't take that personally)
Low GPA, as you stated.

So, it's sort of hard to tell which of these Georgetown will consider most heavily and which way the scales will tip. The best advice I can give is that everybody has a chance; unless, that is, you don't apply. So, give it a go :)

that rec from the Georgetown Professor should help you a lot. Also as a fellow URM (I consider myself Jamaican American but i guess im african american) i wud say that it helps a lot as well. We both seem to be in the relative same situation in everything except the low income part. I agree with what flybyzephyr said about factors that are in ur favor and againgst u. THis year more than ever with the volume of applications sent in ur essay will make all the difference
