This is a common short essay for many colleges that I am applying to:
Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences that was particularly meaningful to you.
Now, my most meaningful extracurricular is addressed in the Activities section, and very briefly mention it in my Common App Essay. Should I write about another activity then for this essay, or write about my most meaningful extracurricular as the prompt asks and not address it as much in the Common App essay?
I’m by no means an expert as I’m applying to college this year too, but I kind of referenced my main EC in my common app essay (like you), and then in the short essay I talked about a different activity. The two that I talked about are the two most important activities to me, but they’re also very different so they offer two different insights into my personality. In my opinion, that’s the most important thing. There are so few chances to show AOs who you are that I think it would be best to focus on a different activity. I’m not sure if that’s the “right” answer, but I hope it helped!
