Election year nominations?

I have a question about election year nominations from your congressman. I will possibly be applying to the air force academy for the third and final time next year.

November is the election and if i remember my USAP class, they take office in January. Well my congressman isnt running anymore.

So do i still apply to him even though he leaves office in january or do i have to wait for the new person and hope they can make a selection by end of january? Or do i not even have a nomination source from my congress man this year?

When my son and I were at the Air Force Academy I asked the same question. One of our Senators is retiring this year. You apply to the current sitting MOC.

Whew. Thats good to hear. The congressman ive gotten my nomination from the past two years is retiring. I was told this year since i am reapplying that i should not worry about a nomination. Indeed, i was given one from same source. Hopefully same thing next year.

Wow, I admire your determination. Good luck with everything.
