Elective requires two periods, should I explain this to colleges to explain my schedule?

I’m taking four AP’s and two periods of choir, with one period weighted and listed as advanced music honors, because you are required to be in both periods in order to be in the chamber choir at my school. As a result I couldn’t take any more AP’s because they would not fit into my schedule. Should I explain this to colleges to show them that I wasn’t just looking for a lax senior year schedule? I already applied but I’m just wondering if its something worth mentioning and emailing them about, although it’s quite late.

“lax senior year schedule”

At my school, people would make room when you walk through the hallways when they find out that you’re taking 4 APs and still managing to balance a choir class.

LOL you’re fine. You’re just experiencing the CC infection that makes you feel as if you’re not good enough.

The only reason that would make adcoms concerned, though, is if your school offered 8263 AP classes and you will have only taken 4 of them by the end of your senior year. As long as your grades aren’t slipping, a downward trend in course rigor, which I assume you have, won’t be a big deal.

Agree with the above. Regardless, at this point, it’s really after the fact. If you were still in the application writing process, I would say have the GC include something in the GC rec, but the student should not mention it in his/her essay.

They would know based on the counselors report and the school profile.

As the others say, you are fine. You are doing the best you can in the context of your school. Don’t compare yourself to other schools with other rules.

I’m not sure my counsellor knows actually. Would it be worth mentioning to her to have her include it in the midyear report? @skieurope‌ @Calicash

^No.

Agree with above posters. You’re good! 4 APs are enough
