Hey current/past UConn students. I have to make a choice of 2 electives and I really don't know which to take... So far, I'm thinking of doing Linguistics because I heard it was easy. What other electives are easy/fun?

Are you a freshman? If so, you should be working on fulfilling your general education requirements.

yes i am a freshman, wut are some of the gen ed requirements? my advisor just told me to pick 2 electives from [Undergraduate Catalog | UConn](http://www.catalog.uconn.edu)

Its right on the page you provided a link for: [Undergraduate Catalog | UConn](http://www.catalog.uconn.edu/acad.htm#Uni)

yea i have to pick 2 from either content area 1 or 4… idk which to choose tho

Whatever interests you. Don’t be afraid to choose a basic level class of something you may not have necessarily studied before. It is good to gain some exposure to different fields. If you are looking for an easy A (which hopefully is not your motivation), I believe there are review sites on professors and classes.

yea i already have some electives in mind but was just seeing if there are some popular courses that uconn students like… thanks for ur help though

Probably too late to matter this semester, but maybe for the next:

Take Engl 1616 (Major Works of English and American Lit) only if Randy Laist is teaching a section. I’m not even sure if he’s still at the university (I took it about 2 years ago) but he was a great teacher and easy grader.

Hrts/Phil 2170 (Bioethics) was also an interesting class, but definitely required some work.
