Electrical engineering or computer engineering

Hey guys I am really confused with what i should choose between electrical and computer engineering. I want to know according to ;
1.Prospects in the Future
2. Likely Job Pay in the future
3. I am interested in robotics for specialization; which would be a better base
4. Which gives more open opportunities for the future.

Can u please suggest which is the most suitable

karan,

It depends on the specialization in electrical engineering. There is some overlap in what people study in EE and computer engineering.

Robotics is a highly interdisciplinary field. What you need to study depends on the aspect of Robotics you want to specialize.

Here are some fields of specialization applicable to Robotics:

[ul]
[] Sensors - this is a very active field of research. All kinds of sensors are needed depending on the application. Gesture sensing is also a very interesting.
[] Control systems - anything that involves movement requires some form of closed loop control mechanism.
[] AI
[] Signal and Image Processing: This is my favorite topic. Has many uses outside of robotics. This combined with study of artificial intelligence would be a ‘killer’ combo.
[/ul]

Hope this helps.

I would go with CompE since CompE is like a combination of EE and CS. So you kind of know EE (not all, but a lot of) and CS if you do CompE
