Currently a Freshman at St.Cloud State University- planning to major in Elementary Education, and minor in Teaching English as a second Language. I’ve been satisfied with St.Cloud’s Education program, but very unsatisfied with the location. I’d really like to transfer to the University of Minnesota! However, their teaching program differs from most Universities in the sense that, the first four years are referred to as ‘Elementary Foundations’ and don’t amount to a bachelors/license in teaching. Instead, the firth year or ‘Graduate Program’ is when students get their license AND their masters. To me… this sounds like a good deal! Yet-- I’ve found it very difficult to find anyone else currently in this program or graduated from this program which makes me hesitant. Any advice?!
You might go back and contact some of your HS teachers who surely know others they can refer you to for information, if they haven’t graduated from the program themselves.
Edit: oops just noticed you said “Elementary” Ed. That will rule out your HS teachers but they should be able to put you in contact with someone in your school district who can answer your questions.
Good luck!
