I'm trying to go over my options, I'm thinking about taking the GED instead of completing high school, but my college of choice doesn't accept a GED. However, it is in league with a community college that does. I can go to the community college for two years for an associates degree in elementary education, then transfer to the actual college for the remaining years. I've only just considered elementary education and I'm wondering if anyone could walk me through the process. Basically, what happens from enrolling to applying for a teaching job. Are there special tests (I've heard mention of PPST or CBEST but I don't know what either is for, when they're taken, ect.)? I had a student come aid in teaching a class when I was in elementary school for a semester, is this something all teaching students must do? I am under the impression I will need a B.S in elementary education to become an elementary school teacher, so I also assume this means four years of college, is that correct? Really, I'm just grabbing any information I can. Thanks-
