Eligible for Federal Pell Grant/FASFA, am I international?

Am I still considered international if I am eligible for FASFA/Federal Pell Grant (on parolee status)?

In the broader sense of the word, there is no clear-cut distinction between “international” and “domestic” students. Rather than that, there are special rules for certain subgroups of the applicant pool, e.g. nonnative speakers of English or students who were educated overseas or out-of-state students or… In every case, you can check whether or not a rule applies to you.

In a stricter sense, international students are students who require a visa to go to college. In that sense of the word you are not an international applicant, but many of the same rules that apply to international applicants may still apply to you.
