what level of judging happens after you have received your second letter? is it district?

i'm super bummed i missed the original deadline for this. the person supposed to write my letter of rec forgot about me, haha, and she was so busy i felt bad about harassing her too much for it.

yes! i got notification today, and i moved on to the next level.

So, don't expect to be notified through the Lodge if you've moved from that level because it's not a requirement.

Ohhh. That makes sense :)

bump. anyone heard anything else?

hmm...no one's received a rejection letter...makes me wonder if they tell you that you moved on when you really didn't (how would you find out anyway?)...maybe the ones that move on but don't get a local award?

sorry..i tend to be pessimistic lol

i am as well azndude1. so ive pretty much given up on this scholarship. moving onto the Robert Byrd.

Neighbor boy here in MN did get a letter saying he was not moving on. Had great stats but no financial need.

Yeah, I don't know what's happening. 2 Emails, 1 phone message, and lots of days of worrying later, I'm still here with no notification.

Whatever. I'm just gonna check my mail everyday like the usual and just wait.

my D is going to the next step. she received a letter yesterday.

well im done, got a letter yesterday. rejected.... jerks lol

Still no letter, no email, no call. :(

I called my lodge and was told that I should hear back within a couple of days as to whether or not I had advanced.

Several hours later, I actually got an e-mail notifying me that my application had been forwarded to the state level (looks like there are no scholarships at my local lodge)!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

I got fed up with my local lodge and e-mailed the state chairman. He finally emailed me back and said my app moved on to State and I'm waiting to hear back if I make nationals (they just reviewed the state ones on Feb 7-8th).

Apparently, I got some money for making it into state and should hear from the CA State Office soon.

IM SO HAPPY =D

congrats crystal!!! my lodge said they were looking at LOCAL apps tonite. im jealous of you people who already know!!!

This was the response to the whiny letter I sent to the CA-Hawaii Chairman dude, just for reference for dates I guess? :]

Dear ____,

I apologize for the breakdown in the lines of your communication regarding
your MVS scholarship brochure. Your brochure was evaluated at the Lodge
level and forwarded to the Central District scholarship chairman for further judging
on January 24. As a result of that judging your brochure was forwarded to the State
judging committee on January 28. As a result of your application being forwarded to
the State committee, you will receive a monetary award. You will be notified by
the Fresno Elks State Office as to the amount of the award and the procedure for
your receiving it. State judging took place in Fresno on February 7 - 8. At this
time I do not know whether your brochure was forwarded to Chicago (the
National Office) for further judging.

In any case, congratulations on the progress your application has made so far.
As far as I know, if your application goes to Chicago, the judging will occur
some time in March. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me.

Anybody have any updates :]?

well my lodge supposedly judged on thursday or friday, but i have heard nothing back from them...

I got a letter in the mail yesterday informing me that I moved on to the district level. They're also using our MVS apps for their general local awards, which will be distributed in May. Cool :)

hey guys, I got a letter in the mail today saying that I moved on to the next level. I'm in Texas too
