Elliptical

<p>It's wrong to say something like, "I am faster than him," because it should be said as "I am faster than he." Correct?</p>

<p>"I am faster than he" is the correct way.</p>

<p>But unfortunately, thanks to the illiterate conditioning we get day in and day out, "I am faster than he" sounds pretentious and snobby. I try to offset this by saying "I am faster than he is" but it still sounds a little stilted.</p>
