I plan on majoring in accounting or finance and both these schools seem like a good fit. Could someone give me some information on the two? Maybe compare and contrast business schools, social lives, dorm rooms. Thanks

My D applied and was accepted to both schools. We visited both schools twice prior to making a decision. Disregarding the fact that these schools are both in the south, they are as different from one another as they can be. College of Charleston is very urban! It is also very historical and quaint. You, “follow the bricks” to figure out when you are on campus and when you are in the city. The shopping is fantastic and cruise ships stop in regularly for the shopping and dining. That being said, the dorms are less than attractive and there are not very many of them. Most students are not guaranteed housing after Freshman year. COC is not known for its academics; it is known as more of a fun environment. Elon on the other hand has a stunning, self contained campus. And is located in a rural/small town area. Academics are a priority and the professor/student ratio is much lower than at COC. Elon’s dorms and dining facilities are some of the best! It is a vibrant growing environment with a total focus on undergraduate education. My D happily chose to attend Elon and she absolutely loves it and we do too! Good luck

My son is a recent Elon Grad. His friends who majored in Business/finance all had jobs lined up prior to graduation.

elon is more prestigous and is on the RISEEE FAST, in 10 years it will be 2 leauges above C of C
