I'm torn between Elon and Colorado College. I am undecided with major, but would like to possibly double major in business and education.

Can you even major in either at CC? I don’t think so. There is a masters in teaching program that takes extra time, and I believe accounting of some sort, but you are not going to be able to double major in business and education there.

CC is by far the more academic school with an intense curriculum in the liberal arts,as a true LAC. Elon has a popular business program that has been its main fare for years, so if that is your bent, that is probably a better bet. I don’t know what they have in education. Elon is not classified as a LAC, I don’t think.

Both are great schools and I know kids who have gone to them, and haven’t heard any complaints. But CC is very much more academic with an unusual block curriculum. Very intense academically. Elon is more typical, and also more of a traditional college wheeras the granola and hiking are more big deals at CC. You should look into the curriculums and requirement each school has, and also visit and compare the atmospheres at both.

@cptofthehouse- thanks so much, I appreciate the input!

Another thing you want to remember when getting a teaching degree (this helped me pick my school) is that teaching licensing varies from state to state. If you’re from Colorado and you want to live in Colorado when you get older-you might need to see if Elon’s program allows you to be licensed in Colorado as well.
