I'm looking at several colleges for environmental engineering that aren't super selective. I think Elon and Clemson are good matches except from what I tell, they are both in somewhat rural areas. A friend of mine visited Clemson and described the campus as pretty but surrounded by miles of nothing. Is that true? I'd really prefer to go somewhere urban or suburban. I haven't heard much about Elon but it seems to be in a rural part of North Carolina. Can somebody tell me what's around these two schools?

Elon does not offer environmental engineering. Or any engineering, for that matter.
