So it's coming down to the wire for everyone to pick a college and I have a difficult decision to make. It's between Syracuse University and Elon University. Both are great schools and I'm sure I'll do well at either school.

Syracuse Pros: Connections with big time companies in business world (field I'm interested in), Great sports (I'm very interested in being part of an intense Division 1 fan base), Carrier Dome

Syracuse Cons: Biggest con is the WEATHER sucks, snows all the time, other than that the school is ideal for me, big student body (feel like i'll just be just another number on campus)

Elon Pros: WEATHER, great warm weather is a huge plus, Beautiful campus, smaller feel
(less students not sure if this is a huge pro), Good academics, near my bros college

Elon Cons: Sports; still D1 but compared to Syracuse it's nothing (Big Con)

HELP ME!!!
Im stumped... might ave to flip a coin

Hi!..surprised nobody has PM’ed me yet to tell me to see this…

D1 is a junior at Newhouse at Syracuse

D2 is an incoming freshman starting at Elon in the fall…

ask away…

D2 had Syracuse on her list from day 1 but quickly changed directions after seeing the opportunities for engagement at Elon, relationships with professors (her sister explained that it is not that great at Syracuse in that regard), and the fact that she would not be able to enter Newhouse directly, but was able to enter ANY school at Elon…

add to the fact that D2 wanted a smaller student body, warmer weather, etc…and she was hooked…

There is a huge difference in $$ too (which will free up $$ for study abroad, travel, etc)…

are you a direct Whitman acceptee at Syracuse?

i got accepted to the school of arts and sciences and plan to study econ. and the $ is in the same price range of about 20 gs a year for both schools. and with syracuse thats a much better value.
Where would u go, considering my thoughts?
Thank you for ur help

I actually don’t think the alumni connections for Syracuse are that strong for econ in arts and sci, but that’s just my opinion…

Syracuse is a big school with a big school feel; your intro classes will be large…and that is fine, as long as you know it and are ok with that type of environment…

Everyone loves both schools who attend; you really can’t go wrong with either one…if you think that Syracuse is a good fit for you, then go for it!!

BTW, I don’t necessarily think that Syracuse is a better value at the same price as Elon…the school is not as student centered, but that may not matter to you…it sounds like you want the big Div I experience and you’ll certainly get it at Syracuse…

For what it’s worth-- my daughter had the same choice, and chose Elon. She also wanted a school with Division I athletics, and that was the main draw for Syracuse. I thought Elon was a better fit for her-- no lecture classes-- but I’d say in the end it was primarily weather that helped her decide. She’s extremely happy at Elon, and though the athletics is not at all the level of Syracuse, she never mentions missing that.

Wait… dont give all the help to him. ( just kidding !!0 im in the same problem. im from boston and i dont know where to go. its between Elon Centre and farifield

Hey I’m in the same position as you, I have a choice between syracuse and elon… Which did you chose? How? And how do you like it there?
I’m looking for an all around university experience. I want the school to have the whole school spirit atmosphere and be able to go to games and enjoy it.
I’m not to thrilled about the weather in syracuse as I live in England and the cold gets a little annoying. But the school sounds amazing and I don’t know how to choose between them. Help!!!
