Thanks, Elon Secretary!

Wow - Alexa is getting her bags packed - how exciting!!

How amazing that Harold Prince will be giving a master class! He will be receiving the lifetime achievement award at the Tony awards this year. My D was chosen as one of the local kids to be in his Nat'l tour of Show Boat when she was about 10 and they came to town. It's something we'll never forget, what an experience & what a coincidence! A good sign all around.

Melsmom, that will be wonderful for your daughter! The masters classes at Elon are just terrific. My daughter was invited to sit in on a few masters classes there and just loved them! Your daughter is just going to LOVE Elon! Truly wonderful people there!

She's looking forward to it kaysmom. Was your D at the master class that was there during spring weekend? LA Casting Director Judy Bowman was there for an auditioning workshop. Unfortunately due to an incredibly long and rainy drive home that day, my D wasn't able to attend. How lucky Elon students are to have such well repected names make the trip to North Carolina!

Hi I have been reading this thread for a few months. Just wanted to introduce myself - my daughter Courtney will be attending Elon in the fall for Music Theater.

Wow, welcome and lucky her and you! Does she have a roomie yet and where are you from?

We are from Pittsburgh and no she does not have a room mate yet.

I guess we'll be hearing shortly who they end up with, hopefully it's with someone compatible. If we had met sooner maybe they could have corresponded prior to sending in the paperwork! Oh well, we'll have to connect on move-in. Have you met any CCers yet? There's a bunch of us going to Elon so hopefully you will soon enough :) Welcome to Posting!

I can't remember when they hear about the room mate is it soon? No I have not meant anyone yet. She is so excited though, definately ready to go now. She is still in school though so I just can't wait until HS is over, they do not graduate until the 16th. She did apply for Viriginia but now she is having second thoughts!!!! o well I guess it will all work out, just like the college. Do you know how many girls they took for MT- I heard 10. Oh I think I remember your daughter is acting is that correct.

Welcome MaMa M

My daughter Alexa will also be attending Elon MT in the fall. We live in S. Ca. We are looking forward to meeting all the parents on move-in day and I know Alexa is excited to meet all new Freshman. Today is her graduation rehearsal and senior picnic. She has been attending the same school for six years so I know there will be a lot of tears today. She was very close to her friends as it was a performing arts high school and she was in the musical theater department. It will be hard for her to say good by to them but it is likely they will end up seeing each other on stage somewhere/sometime.

This will be sad for me as well as I am saying good-by to many parents whom I've become close to.

See you all in August

Welcome, Mama M! We've got a whole group of freshmen going to Elon from CC! Some of us met in various cities during auditions this year, and we're so happy to end up with several friends there! My son will be in MT and has requested an MT roommate that we met through another CC connection at a different audition. They are hopeful to live on the performing arts floor in Virginia and know several students that will be sophomores and will be living there - great bunch of kids!

We will be there for both move-in weekend and parent's weekend!

Write me an e-mail from the drop-down menu (not a PM) so we can get acquainted.

Another girl we met a 2 different auditions last fall is from Pittsburgh and knows your daughter, I think, because I'm pretty sure she told us about her. She is going to CAP21 ED.

PS to Mama M - I think they get dorm and roommate assignments on July 1.

Has Elon announced audition dates for 2006-2007?

Our audition dates are:
October 27
November 3
November 17
February 2
February 9
February 16
February 23
March 2
March 30

All the dates between October 27 and March 2 are for scholarship consideration and you do not have to be admitted to the University to audition on those dates. To audition March 30th, you must already be admitted to the University.

Please contact me to have an audition packet sent to you. My email address is krippy@elon.edu.

I have a couple of questions and perhaps one of you may know.

Alexa's brother will be getting married on 9/9 and she is in the wedding. She will be returning home shortly after just getting there. She is a little nervous about this as she will just be getting started but does not want to miss the wedding. I know the school has airport shuttle for scheduled holidays but what about other dates? Does anyone have info on this. I want to try to schedule her shuttle while I'm there for move-in week-end.

Also, does anyone of you s/d have the P.O. campus box number yet. Alexa's was not included with her room information and she has two boxes to ship as we are flying from CA to N.C.

Hope all of you are enjoying your summer. See you all soon.

Lexismom: Try this service. There name is listed on the Elon web site as providing transportation for students. Burlington is the nearest larger town. Also, the owner of the Acorn Inn arranged transportation for my daughter when she went to reaudition there last November and stayed at the Acorn. The manager used the Acorn van to go get her and return her to the airport. I believe it was $50 each way. I had checked some other places and it was about the going rate. You might ask him if you are staying there during move-in, he's very nice. Email me and I can give you his name.

My daughter did not get her campus box until she got there but she transferred so maybe that was different. She and her roommate are going to be in the new section The Oaks. She is so excited about it and can't wait to get back to Elon!

Show mom

Thanks for the info!!
