I most likley will be auditioning the weekend of the 16th. I am very nervous :-/

Defying - don't be nervous - the people at Elon will make you feel comfortable.

Break a leg!

I totally agree with Ericsmom. My s had a wonderful experience at Elon...everyone is welcoming and eager for you to do well. Enjoy your day! :D

Thanks ndesterre for the offer of ground transportation. My D had to change her audition date to Feb 16, but I THINK we have a ride worked out. I really appreciate the offers to help!

We are finalizing the details for a trip to NY next weekend; sheet music, CD, boom box, 5 pairs of panty hose, audition outfit, dance outfit, shoes, shoes, shoes. My husband is taking her on this trip. He's great; the calm, strong silent type. But will he remind her to wash out her leotard every night???
Anyone in NY for Unifieds? Or Syracuse Feb 2?

Anyone else auditioning Feb 2?

rathersing,my d and i will be at new york unifieds...what schools will your d be auditioning for?

mum2four,
My D will audition for OU and Otterbein, and Pace and Marymount while in the city. What about you?

Hello everyone,

This is a little off topic, however, can't believe it is time to start thinking about this. Does any one have suggestions of storage close to campus? D gave a few numbers but they seem a little far away. I want her to have storage as close to campus as possible.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Lexismom

Hi Lexismom, My daughter's things were in storage at America's Best Storage while in temporary housing waiting for the Oaks to get done. It is a bit far, out by the Outlets towards Graham. Still, it's only about 15-20 minutes from campus and the owners were very nice and helpful. Another possibility is to ask someone from the Oaks. They have their apartments there year round and she may be able to store there. My daughter is deciding to move off campus to a house with 3 other girls, but they don't have it until June 1.

Hope that helps.

Showmom & Ericsmom

Thanks for the info. Ericsmom - I'll let you know as soon as I find out info. I'll be back for grand night & I hope to get things settled.

I also wanted to wish everyone the best of luck auditioning the next few weeks. Breath easy - Elon will treat you well!!!!!

hello all,my d will be auditioning at elon next friday, bfa in mt,does anyone know how long we should plan on being there.....i have a 5 hour drive home and i am trying to decide if i should book a room for the night or attempt to drive home

Hey mum2four! I auditioned last Friday and it was about a 7-hour day.
They should be sending you an email with the schedule of the day shortly.
We had to check in by 9 and then we got to observe an acting class from 9:35-10:30 and then there are rehearsal times set up for accompanists. I had a little over an hour to just relax between those. After that there is a nice break when you can go get lunch or something and then there is an information session at 1:30. Dance auditions started around 2:30 or 3. After dancing it just depends on what time your audition is scheduled. Mine was around 4:15 so I didn't have much time in-between it and dance. After that it was all over. Just about 7 hours in all with a lot of down time which was nice to get prepared.
My family came in the night before to be there early the next morning and then stayed the night after to see their show. It took us a little over 5 hours to get there.
Good luck! They are all super nice and welcoming as noted before.

Thanks BruceWayne... how many people where there auditioning with you that day?

No prob! I'm not sure how many there were....I didn't even realize there were two groups of us until halfway though the day. I would say around 30? I'm not really sure though. They said there were a lot of guys there for one day and there were probably about 7-10 guys maybe? I heard there were about 60 people for today's audition.

brucewayne, thank you for the help....also,were you grouped with the theatre auditions? we are bringing someone that will be auditioning.

mum2four, I'll be auditioning on Feb 16, too - tall guy, reddish-brownish hair

We all checked in at the same time but I think we were split up from then on. There weren't many for theatre-everyone I talked to was Music Theatre.

I think there have been at least a few people at each audition who are going for BFA Acting rather than BFA in MT.

Hey everybody! We do separate the acting and the music theatre auditions and yes there usually is a significantly greater amount of music theatre auditionees then there are acting auditionees. The acting auditions happen right before the music theatre auditions so the acting faculty can be in both sets of auditions. There were a handful of acting auditionees last week and we usually have a few acting auditionees every time.

I hope all is well and that everyone's auditions are going wonderfully! All is good at Elon, we just finished the Marriage of Bette and Boo last weekend which is so much fun and this weekend A Day in Hollywood, A Night in the Ukraine is doing amazingly! We are so excited to see everyone coming to Elon! I am still available to answer any questions you all have. Have a lovely day!

Endless oodles of Elon MT love ~
ElonMT09

I have a question! I know they said there were always a lot of shows going on outside of the main stage shows. I think I saw "The Full Monty" coming up in March. Where can we find a list of any others coming up? Are there any more musicals after that besides Grand Night For Singing?
