Elon University

Anyone else auditioning this day? If so, let's try to meet. PM me if you wish.

Elon's website states they contact you a week prior to audition to give you your warm-up time and audition time. I know they received my daughter's audition application and fee - how did you all hear? Mail, phone, e-mail? Just curious.

If I don't hear anything by tomorrow, I'll call them.

Teri,
I know D got an email which I then printed out and took with us to Elon. I THINK it came late on the Monday before the audition, so you might get it later today? I threw the email copy out when we got back from that trip, so I can't check for sure, sorry. I would call tomorrow if you haven't heard by then.
Good luck to your D from her friends in Syracuse!

Came on October 19 - she auditioned on Oct 27.

Have fun - seems like a GREAT program!!

MikksMom

she could have told me the e-mail came to her - but I think she should have shared that information with me before this afternoon since she got it LAST WEDNESDAY! Grrrrrrr......

I am having the same problem.....
"oh yeah - that came right after"..
.well...could you have told ME - before I call????

Kids....love em!:)

I am not one to post information however, for the past year I have been reading everyone elses information. I just wanted to let those students that have not auditioned at Elon for the 2007 year yet that you will be made to feel quite at ease! EVERYONE was extremely helpful and encouraging. My daughter had her first audition at Elon and it was not even half as stressful as she thought it would be. She attended an acting class, had a dance audition which she thought was not difficult at all and then the monologue and song. As a mother, I just adore the school and the program. VERY inviting! We also had the pleasure to meet a very nice mother who posts here and her daughter Shannon. What a great way to start the audition process. Good luck to everyone and break a leg!

It was nice meeting you guys, too! Am glad to see you're not 'lurking' anymore and are posting! I hope all your post-Elon traveling went well, too.

Anyone auditioning Feb. 2nd? I will be at Elon to see my MT son in The Marriage of Bette & Boo. There are a few MT majors in this non-musical play and we cannot wait to see it!

NJ - I know he'll break a leg, as will our other MT friends in the show! Have fun - wish I could see it.

Ericsmom, the time is flying as natalee is getting ready for auditions,we will be at unifieds in a couple of weeks. She is planning to audition at Elon Feb 16th. We are excited. Will your son be helping with auditions? Also, do you know if there are any shows/musicals that we should plan on seeing during our visit. If so,how do we get tickets? Thank you for your help.

Hi! My D will be auditioning Feb.9th. Anyone else?

Sarahsmom - you'll be there for the musical, and you can get those tickets at the box office. I recommend that you call ahead.

Hope all of your kids do great!

mum2four - I hope that my son will be able to help with auditions this semester, as he certainly enjoyed helping with the ones last semester when he didn't have a conflict. I can't speak for whether he's doing it, but please do look for him or ask another student if you don't see him.

Also, mum, on the web site it lists Quickies in the black box theatre 2/16 - 17 (original, short, student written and produced plays). That's all I know about it, and they may do tickets differently for black box. You may want to ask the school about tickets. I have learned that the senior project productions in the black box do not require tickets. You just show up early for a seat. I'm not sure if this one is different, since it's listed on the school's schedule.

the reservation phone line number for black box performances is 336-278-5650. when you call, there will be a recording stating the performances for which you may currently make reservations. you leave your name, phone number and number of tickets needed. they call you if any problems. pick up tickets at the box office before the performance.

Anyone planning to audition Feb 23? My D really wants to audition, and I am trying to find the least expensive way to get her from Dallas to Elon. I wouldn't mind sending her alone, if I could get her from either airport to the campus. The school shuttle isn't running, a taxi for an hour seems, um, weird, and Greyhound schedules don't work. She has a friend in MT who will keep her overnight, but she doesn't have a car, and the drive is pretty far anyway.

Any ideas?

Rathersing: My S is also auditioning Feb 23rd. I am in NC already but my family is flying down from Philly into RDU Thursday night. They get in at 1030 pm. If you can get your daughter into RDU by then we could transport her to Elon. We are staying the night at one of the hotels near campus.

Rathersing - I also forgot to add that they are going back to RDU at the end of the day Friday so she could get a ride back if that coincided with your plans

Anyone auditioning February 16?? I'll be there!

I hope everyone who is auditioning at Elon in upcoming weeks has a wonderful time on campus. Let me know how it goes! Break a leg, and I'll keep fingers and toes crossed for our CC friends.

If you want to correspond with me on Elon questions or to give an update about the audition day, I prefer e-mail to the PM system in CC.

Thanks!

We'll be visiting that weekend as a little family vacation, so hopefully we all get some warmish weather. My youngest S (HS soph) has never been & we're bringing the puppy to see my D as well. Can't wait...March spring break was too long of a span to go before seeing her again so we figured we'd make the trek. Now I know why the hotels were kind of picked over with all the auditioning scheduled! Good luck to all of you going for it, I hope you break a leg :)
