I have a tough decision about where to apply early and could use some advice. In all of the colleges I have seen, the only two that have felt like a good fit are Elon University and the University of Richmond. I REALLY want to go to one of them, but would very slightly perfer Richmond. To maximize my chances of admission I want to apply early decision, but I don't know where to apply. Based on my school's naviance stats for Elon (there are many applications so it is a big pool) I am slightly below the average GPA but slightly above on standardized test scores, and have taken many AP/Honors. At Richmond, my SAT scores are on the average, but my GPA is about 0.2 below the average (I also have a recommendation from an ex-Richmond admissions counselor but I don't know how much that will help). Clearly, it will be easier to be accepted into Elon, but ED would really strengthen my chances at both schools.

The real question is if I should apply to Richmond ED and Elon EA and maybe get into my dream school but possibly not get into either of my favorites, or apply to Elon ED and almost secure acceptance into a school that I still love, and is only slightly below Richmond. Thanks for any suggestions and sorry if it got confusing...
