Email crisis, please help!

I received an email from Syracuse about an hour ago that says click here to view an electronic version of the acceptance or reject(ance?) letter I have yet to receive by mail. Problem is I can't open it! Every time I try, I get a network login sort of box asking for my username and password... which, to my knowledge, does not exist. I called admissions but they are closed. I emailed them as well, but I'll probably get my actual letter before they even see it. If anyone had any suggestions or knew how I could fix this I'd be completely grateful. I've been waiting for this since I heard that some people got their letters two weeks ago and I'm very frusterated at this bad luck. Thank you!

Yeah, this is happening to me too. There must be a problem with the CMS (Computer and Media Service). I emailed them too...argh
I thought it was the application login, which I tried many times, but was unsuccessful.

Well at least I'm not the only one! lol that's surprisingly comforting to know. By application login do you mean your email and the password that went with that? I tried that one myself... God, this is annoying!

yeah, I mean the email and password. Anyways, I don't think a login box was supposed to pop up at all. Like all accepted students get this link, rejected that link, etc. So I'm pretty sure there's something going on with the SU CMU. I Googled it and found myself at the SU CMU website, which suggested that only current students and others have a CMU account....let's hope they fix it ASAP. :P

have the same problem too...

well, my daughter got the email, but she isn't home to open it. I have a feeling she wil have the same problem. This is very frustrating.

i have the same problem, im so anxious

Yup, same deal here...what a tease. Syracuse isn't even my top choice but I'm still getting butterflies in my stomach. You'd think after waiting 4 months this wouldn't be too bad, but it really is.

Same problem here, I thought that this was my AccessOrange number, but that didn't come with a password.

Well I've emailed admissions and tech support and a (some) user(s) on the Syracuse musical theater called both places and nobody can get to a real person, which would be expected after 5 on a Friday. Guess we'll just have to wait.

possible solution
in the url try replacing /tcwis03.syr.edu:880/ with /cwis03.syr.edu/

it worked for me, though i got wait listed :(

I had the same problem. I tried Wicked nervous's solution but it didn't work. I'm so glad I'm not the only one this happened to.

another trick

my url contained "/admissions/wl/" i'm assuming wl stands for waiting list

S has same issue-so it for all decisions? acceptences, waitlists and rejects?

wicked nervous' trick worked for me. Let's just say I wish I hadn't checked though...Rejected from Newhouse

I had the same problem but tried what wicked nervous suggested and I got waitlisted.

Tried what was suggested, but said the database was unavailable. I wonder if they realized the problem. Did anyone who WAS NOT waitlisted have the "wl" in the url? My daughter's url has the wl and we were wondering.
Also, was anyone accepted via this email, or is it all rejects and waitlists?

I've heard of lots of people getting both accepted and rejected via email over the past 2 weeks. This was the first time I heard of waitlisters, so maybe we were the waitlisted round or something. I was waitlisted and my url also sais wl.

My D was able to get in, and yes, she was waitlisted. Oh well, she got good merit money from schools she liked much better, so it wasn't a huge disappointment.
To all who got waitlisted or rejected: If they don't want you, remember, it's thier loss, not yours. There are many other schools out there for you. Good luck to all!

are we sure replacing the letters in the link works? because i got to my decision but it look pretty standardized, like they just put my name in a different letter. i got waitlisted with a 90 average un-weighted, toughest course load, 32 act, 2090 sat, 3 varsity sports, clubs..recs..everything. im a little surprized, maybe this is just all broken? who knows
