Email from the chair of department

I submitted my UW application and specified the degree I would like to pursue. A few weeks later I got an email from the chair of the department telling me about the program with his direct phone number and personal email address saying I can call or email with any questions. I am just curious if this has happened to others.

BTW: It kind of looked like a form letter but was personal too, so I wasn’t sure.

What department?

I haven’t received such an email. Which department was it?

I didn’t receive an email. I applied for Foster.

I also received this type of email. Engineering

Can the ones who recieved this kind of email post their stats?

Sure,

Instate
GPA:3.85
SAT:1780
3 Strong EC
Dedicated a lot of time to the essays.
Major Selected: Civil Engineering; Computer Engineering.

Honestly, I believe this isn’t as “personal” as Julie had said it was. It seems like one of those emails that are sent automatically to anyone who picked a certain major. So for those who didn’t receive this email, don’t worry at all. I’m sure it’s in no way affecting your admissions process.

Oh, sorry…didn’t mean to stress anyone. I was just curious. It probably was a form email that everyone who applied to that department received!

Oh, this is super embarrassing. I just went back and read it and it was from WSU not UW. Sorry for the error and any worry I caused!

haha, we all make mistakes. No worries, Julie.
