Email from UCB admissions about Mar 27 decions?

juoh, your explanation sounds pretty reasonable. That sounds like it'd mean that there was a clear distinction between the type of people separated into the two categories.

i got the 3rd one too....

perhaps "apps for wait" means waitlisted/?!?!?

i HOPE NOT!!!

Yeah thats what I thought initially, but since the key distinction between 2 and 3 seems to be the "worth the wait" phrase, juoh's explanation seems to make sense.

Does Berkeley even have a waitlist?

Anyone have one that is 000000001?

Maybe the "Leadership Award Alumni Scholarship" email is the first email they sent out to applicants.

I don't think its waitlist. They don't waitlist people who have been invited for Regents do they?

I think the FR_WAIT means the email that includes "we're worth the wait?" Maybe? haha..

Now a whole new paranoia has started with the 00003Wait and 000002Unlogged emails!!!

^^^^seriously.

Leave it up to CCers to investigate a few numbers at the bottom of an e-mail. Ah well, please continue. This is fascinating me.

i am off to celebrate Easter. I have had enough!

I agree with OP that if the ads are reading this forum, they must be enjoying the analysis and learning the psychology of bored and anxious minds... Maybe it's a funded research project being done by the UCB Dept. of Psychology on effects of recruiting (or lack of) on applicants!

Relax, lmicheelee - the APPSFRWAIT could also mean tell these guys it's worth the wait.

Question is did anyone get any other DaVinci code at the bottom of their email - esp. those who didn't have the 'worth the wait' version and was it sent on Fri/Sat this week or much earlier than UCLA announcement..

Yeah, that's most probably it. But regarding #2, if it was for those who haven't logged on yet, why would #3 have instructions to log on? So it most probably means something else I guess.

The current presumption is that 'worth the wait' indicated that its a likely right? So if #2 doesn't have it... ahh.. :S

Well you have to admit, the fact that they sent different versions of the email is somewhat intriguing...

rr43:
haha very creative w/ the funded research project
=]

aii i hope tomorrow is 3/27 already

@Narsil - You got regents, but sorry, u r waitlisted for admission! LOL
Just kidding..

Cal should make a special mention of our efforts when they release their decisions..

@rr43, LOL! i'm expecting anything.. even a rejection wouldn't faze me now.. -_- maybe...

forgottenhawk, yes i have that at the bottom of my email as well...my only concern about the theory that they're "warning" UCLA admits to wait is that I DIDN'T get accepted to UCLA...

Narsil: agreed :P
drsarah: i don't think the UCs communicate with eachother that way

@dsarah - I thought one UC doesn't have access to another UC decision - only info they have access to is you applied to some other UC as that is in the global db
