I would believe so. I believe that they only review the students in the final stage. My predictions for several schools were very accurate. There is always signs you can tell. It is different from college to college. It is difficult to tell from Stanford because you can’t check such status. Standford is also honest about only reviewing financial aid applications for admitted students. If Stanford requests a missing financial aid document, you are in good shape. I don’t want to insult anyone. If you can’t find clues and make an intelligence guess, IVYs might not be a good fit for you if you want to be a scientist or engineer.

^^ Oh, please.

No one know what any of our statuses really mean other than the people who work for Dartmouth. Not being able to figure out what a status means doesn’t say anything about anyone’s intelligence.

apology if I offend anyone. I am not intended to do that.

What I have question about is that there was a rcirved but not reviewed status a long time ago, so I don’t know why they would change it to review in progress if it didn’t mean anything.

@johnyenglish no worries I wasn’t offended it’s just that since no one know anything for sure we shouldn’t make conclusions

I think people are confused. There are three statuses that we know of:

1.) Recieved
2.) Recieved - review in progress
3.) Satisfied

Also, as far as we know, both CSS and FAFSA remain in satisfied. And @johnnyenglish, I am not offended. I find everyones observations to be enjoyable and quite fun to read. This is like a wierd game of Clue. However, I’m not entriely sure I know what you said: you’re saying to be “Recieved - review in progress” is not a good sign?

I support jabber’s observations. I would think that received - review in progress is probably a good thing. If the 2 status was the same as the 1st, why would there be a 2nd status. I think the 2nd means that one is in line to be reviewed if not reviewed already. However, I think the most feasible way of thinking is to not worry about this, and wait until the decisions come out in a little more than a week.

jabberwoo123, correct. I think “Recieved - review in progress” = “Received - put on shelf”. I bet that the best outcome for “Received - review in progress” is “waitlisted” Please note that “Received - review in progress” is under the unsatisfied section. This proves again that no one has reviewed the package. Financial aid package is ready to be released on March 28. today is March 19. Six more business days to go if anyone is hoping that financial aid office will review the information next week and come up a package at last minute.

think this way - how can financial aid office give you a package if they consider your document is still not satisfied? this is my two cents.

I modified my hypoth. to agree with @johnyenglish. The real question is, do all “Recieved - review in progress” go to satisfied?

Also, what’s your status @johnnyenglish?

My friend speculates for those that have not submitted all their documents yet, lets say Title IV or IDOC, if the date it has under the “As of Date” column is not recent then most likely not good…not sure though…what dates do other people’s missing documents have?

looks like I am rejected. Oh well.

Does anyone want to provide their stats, where they got accepted/rejected, and what their financial status is? I realize that Dartmouth’s admissions are very difficult to predict. Here’s mine: 32 ACT, 4.0 GPA, accepted by WashU and BC, deferred by ND. My FAFSA and CSS profile are satisfied, IDOC and everything else is “received- review in progress” as of 2/28.

I think someone should call Dartmouth and ask about the statuses.

I recently sent out my IDOC stuff, and now, for the Title IV thing only, I have ‘received - review in progress’. Not sure what to make of it.

Just realized that my FAFSA/CSS has ‘Received - Satisfied’ - a 4th category?
^^^ Or is ‘satisfied’ just short for ‘received and satisfied’?

@ND2017 On par with all your stats, even have the same status.

@THEbomb Yeah, because they’re going to tell you what they mean lol

@jabberwoo - sigh… rejection it is =/

@honorlions financial aid documents aren’t all reviewed at the same time, even for those who are accepted. What does your status say?

where do you guys even see this “received” status? In the Dartmouth financial aid application status portal?
