Email saying my PSAT scores indicate I could have success with AP tests

Hey guys, I'm new to this site but it looks like we have similar goals. Have any of you recieved an email saying that your PSAT scores indicte you will do well in ap classes. What does that mean about the PSAT scores we will get back in December.

Did College Board send you the email, or your school?

College Board

It’s just one of their random e-mails.

It means they want you to sign up for AP classes and make them more cash.

Not sure if it is actually based on your actual score though, it may be.

^I highly doubt it, otherwise many others on CC would have been notified also.

I was thinking about that also because I could not find another discussion about this topic on CC.

Someone else posted this yesterday. I thought it was spam, and so I was surprised when I saw this. However, if it was really because you broke a score threshold, a TON of CC people would have gotten it, so I maintain my spam hypothesis.

If its spam its spam by the company themselves.

My hypothesis is that it IS an advertisement by the company, and it is targeted perhaps to those who score above a certain point, but it is also targeted to those who have not taken any AP classes (which takes out a large chunk of CC), and perhaps theres more than that to it.
