So I got a 5 in APWH and my dad is insisting that I email a copy of the score to my teacher and say "I did well on the test, thank you for..."

I refused to do that, because it seems wierd to send him my scores. Especially since he's had many students. I already thanked him at the end of the school year.

Anyways, my dad is raging mad at me now because he wants me to write that thank you email. Ugh.

Is it weird or Uncustomary to do such a thing?

I believe that your teachers should get a score report of all their students… If you want to send it, that might be fine…

@AiYaaaa

Well isn’t it unhumble to do so?

Haha it doesn’t hurt My dad does similar things too. But did you know that every teacher gets a list of their students’ scores before the students gets theirs? So he already knows what you got. It doesn’t hurt to thank him, but then again he’s paid to teach you, so it’s his job.

If you want to ask him to write your college rec (though if he was your 10th grade teacher only I wouldn’t recommend asking him), thanking him is a good way to get more on his good side (if you weren’t already)!

They get your scores too, but it doesn’t hurt to thank them for teaching and preparing you for the test…

My cousin is a teacher, and she said that she already heard from three students last week their scores (they found out through their respective colleges). She was happy to get those emails, even though she’ll get all of the scores herself later.

@hiya12345 I think it might be good to send them as a token of appreciation…

Just to let you know your teacher gets a copy of everyone scores. But it’s not weird to send a thank you email if you got a 5. If it’ll make your dad happy just send it, it’s not a big deal!

@K1Helen thanks. Yes, I will have him as an 11th grade teacher as well. Since he’s getting the grades, I won’t include them. Would it be ok I write:

"Hello Mr. X,
I just got my AP scores and would like to thank you for being my teacher this last year. I felt prepared for the test after having been in your class, and am happy with the score I received. I am looking forward to being in your IB class next year.

That sounds good :)
