If you got a 5 on an AP exam(s), does it make sense to write a thank you letter to the teacher of that corresponding class? If so, how would one go about doing it? Should it be brief?

44 views, you guys? 44 views and no one bothers to answer? I am disappointed in all of you, son. LOL.

Just to give you an answer…

I guess you could if you really wanted to. I don’t think it would hurt to do so. I’d probably just email them something short, brief and simple saying thank you for being a good teacher and helping me throughout the class…blah blah blah…I’m very proud of myself and happy to see that I got a 5 on the exam…a b c…x y z…

I’m guessing your teacher would feel more flattered than confused or angry as to why you decided to email them :p

Honest answer? I think that’s weird. Just thank them in person when the new school year starts. You can wait a month, can’t you? Unless you’re a rising college freshman, then, I guess if it’s really that important, you can email your teacher. But otherwise, I would just wait tell the school year starts so you can tell them in person.

Congratulations on the 5, by the way.

I doubt they check it during the summer. I’d just go thank them in person when school starts, unless you graduated last year.

Edit: I totally just said the exact same thing as the person above me. But I didn’t see it first, I swear. :)

UGH but talking to them in person requires eye contact and eye contact sucks.

I like to stare a lot.

^^
Yay for someone agreeing with me about that. I think people at school just sort of got used to the fact that I don’t make eye contact, though.

I sent an email that said:

Thanks for the 5 on APUSH :)

You’re not trying to win a Pulitzer here.

parent and (kind of) teacher here…absolutely positively email them. Teachers seldom get that kind of positive feedback, and it is more important than you can imagine. Two lines, and if you can put some sort of personal comment in the second one like “Your enthusiasm for the subject wore off on me” or “you made AP History interesting and easier to understand.”

Preamble it’s not as big of a deal as your making it out to be. If you are serious about thanking them, thank them during school. Developing eye contact skills is going to be essential in the future. If you can’t manage to look at a teacher, a boss of interviewer will be much more difficult.

Our teacher actually wanted us to email him with our scores, since we are able to access them before he is. I sent a short note that said this:
Dear (teacher),
I got a 5! Thank you for helping to prepare me for this test so well. I really enjoyed your class. I hope you’re having a great summer!

Short and simple!

I thanked mine for 5’s

I thanked them - lol, they all responded immediately in the same generic way “thank you for your kind words, congratulations wonderful news etc etc”
