Has anyone ever emailed your admissions rep and actually received a reply? I want my son to be in charge of the admissions process and since he leaves for school at 6:30 AM and returns home 12 hours later there is no opportunity for him to call with his questions - that leaves emailing. So far he has emailed Rochester and Case Western with specific questions and has not recd replies. To pour salt in the wound, he continues to receive spam emails from both schools telling him how much they want him to apply. I know that the admissions office at Rochester has someone read CC to correct "misinformation" (we were told that when we visited) perhaps that person could poke a stick at the admissions reps to respond to emails in a timely fashion.

4 years ago my DS did receive timely replies from his admissions rep. That rep is no longer at Rochester. I can’t comment on how it is now.

My daughter received a quick reply from her admissions rep, and it was after hours.

Did your son email the admissions office or did he email the admissions rep assigned to your state/locale?

The admissions office email address goes to the main office desk which is often staffed by undergrad students who probably can’t answer his question.

He should email his state/regional admissions rep directly.

Here’s the list of reps:

FWIW, D2’s admissions counselor not only responded promptly to her (by both phone and email), but he actually personally picked her up at the airport to take her to campus when she flew in for her interview weekend.

Son emailed his regional admissions rep - 2x - waited 8 days before emailing the 2nd time (he’s way more patient than his mom!) but finally heard back that the rep is out of the office and will get back to him when he returns. I could probably ask son’s question on CC and get an instant reply but I’m trying to get him to steer the ship. His experience with Case Western was similar.

Well, it is that time of year. All the admission reps are on the road doing college fairs, school visits and interviews.

And letting your son take the initiative on doing the contacts–that’s the right way to do things.

I just thought with laptops and internet connection being pretty much world wide that the reps would be connected 24/7.

Depends where you are. There isn’t universally available internet in a lot of places still.
