Is it reasonable to expect emails from (all) colleges telling me that an aspect of my FA form/app is missing?
I have taken lots of care to look to each colleges unique requirements for the FA process, but I;m still thinking that its very possible that I missed something(s), especially because I applied to more than 10 schools. Princeton and Upenn are the only ones that required institutional forms in addition to fafsa, idoc, and the css. My completed CSS proflie also mentions this.
Williams actually emailed a few days ago with a request, and I promptly complied. Williams is the only school to have done so. Does this mean I’ve done it all right? Or should I spend a few more (agonizing) hours to make sure I didnt mess up somehow?
I did as you did - checked each school’s web site for a list of required docs and deadlines. If you have done that and met them all, I’d say you’re probably OK. Is there a portal you can check to be sure? One for FA specifically, or an applicant portal?
I haven’t come across a portal or a program of some sort that caters to individual applicants (regarding FA)… Just generic text checklists… Oh well… Its probably all fine.
They will contact you if there is a form missing or they need to verify your data. It is still a bit early for verification as many people have not file tax yet.
My bad.
No, Princeton does not utilize the idoc; I sent my tax info directly to their FA office by email. And no, the my final CSS ticket does not mention princeton. My original statement was somewhat of a simplification.
Does getting such a request give any indication that the student may be admitted? My S received an email looking for missing FAFSA information from his reach school which does not announce admissions decisions until 4/1. He has been accepted to his 4 match colleges & we have not received emails about missing FA information from any of them.
In my humble opinion. Id say no, such an email means nothing except that the FA office is missing the said information. Most top schools are need-blind and thus their FA and admissions dept are completely separate and do not communicate with each other except in the most dire of situations.
As far as I understand, anyways.
I haven’t received an email from all my colleges saying that something was missing, and I don’t think they all do that for no reason. Regardless, I don’t think there’s any consequence if you actually did submit something and you submit it right after they email you that it’s “missing”.
