I didn't receive an email about IDOCs after I submitted my CSS profile, so I didn't send in ANYTHING. I was looking at my Reed profile online to see how much financial aid I got, but it says I didn't send in the IDOCs. I'm panicking (a lot ) because I'm scared about how much that affects my ability to qualify for financial aid since I didn't send in anything that they need to prove my need. I'm also confused on what I need to submit. Will submitting now help?

First thing on Monday, call Reed, explain your situation and ask them what to do. Then log into IDOC, you don’t need the email, you can use your SS # and DOB.

Thank you! Brown, Yale, and Georgetown need them too, so should I call them as well and explain (haven’t gotten any admission decision from any of them yet)?

So my daughter has received acceptances from all her colleges(8-10), and her top 3 favorites are fafsa only schools.from 2 out of 3 of those we have rec’d our FA letters and she was awarded stafford loans only…no surprise there as our EFC is about $10k more than the stated COA at the 2 schools.

I filled out the CSS profile, relevant for choice #4 as well as a couple of others further down the list. I am tempted to ignore IDOC procedures now as I believe shell end up at one of those top 3 choices. CSS profile will probably not help us because it takes into account real estate assets and we have substantial equity there including small seasonal property.

So if I did not respond to idoc email, it would have no effect on her fafsa-only schools, correct?

ma, yes I would advise that you talk to each school on Monday, explain and ask the best way to deal with this. I’ve dealt with FA at both B & Y and have found them to be very helpful.

kb, correct, if she selects a FAFSA only school, it will not matter that you didn’t respond to the IDOC requirements at they only pertain to Profile schools. However, be sure that the FAFSA schools don’t also want you to send them tax documents directly, I just got home from a spring break trip to find that a FAFSA only school wants them from us.

So, I got a notification from College Board IDOC requesting my filed income tax for 2010. What does this mean? It mentions that one of my D’s applied school is requesting them.
We already have a FA from that school. I am new with this process, I don’t know what it means.

I’m guessing that the school gave you a tentative FA package based on your CSS Profile but they are waiting for your tax documents to confirm the numbers that you submitted. Give the college FA office a call and ask them what you need to do.

Thank you. I will just do that. Hopefuly it means more $ for my daughter. She got a good package, but not a fantastic one, she got 3 loans with her FA, with a EFC = 0. Hopefully, it will help us?
