So I agreed to pick up a friend tomorrow to go to school registration with...problem is...he embarrasses me now. He dresses like a freak, and wears eyeliner. He thinks its hilarious/awesome. I think it's gross/embarrassing. If you saw another person walking with said person, what would you think?
Ever dealt with embarrassing friends?

Uh… how is it embarrassing? Who cares what he looks like? Perhaps you are the embarrassing one with caring how your friends look. He is obviously your friend for some reason.

Yeah, I have friends that are loud/obnoxious/weird looking/one that even wears a stuffed animal on her head! But you know what? They’re MY FRIENDS and I love them. Why should I give two *****s about what anyone else thinks?

Grow up and realize that friendship is more important than what others think of you.

And freak… what a cruel word. Maybe he is the normal one and you are the freak! People who blindly conform to social norms without thinking for themselves and constantly worrying about what other people think are freaks to me.

Oh no I mean he still is my friend, always has been always will be. It’s just a little weird to have people stare at us. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.

No, it’s not just you, that is the problem.

Again, why does it matter what other people think? Maybe they’ll snicker or whatnot, but who cares? Do you really think they’ll remember you in five minutes? No, but your friend will still be there.

looks like you’re just going to have to deal with your freak friend. SUCKS TO BE U.

Buy him makeup remover wipes.
If that doesn’t work, get a Spiderman costume and walk around with him saying “happy halloween!” and hand out candy.

no really, in all honesty gypsyeyes is right…he’s still your friend and just get over it.
some girls like that kind of stuff anyway (:

Hate yourself a little bit because your insecurities are exposed? He’s your friend trying to express himself. You’d hate yourself more if you asked him to tone it down because then it would reveal that you don’t accept him as he is, freaky, makeup and all.

Definitely embarrassing. I would never walk around with a dude wearing eyeliner.

Don’t do it. Haha.

I have friends like that, but I just accept it. If he makes you happy, and he is content wearing that, why change him? What kind of friend would you be to change someone for your benefit? I usually just cope with the situation. If people have a problem with my friend’s physical appearance, they can just deal with it, or come to me. I won’t let others make fun of my friends because what my friends are wearing doesn’t suit their tastes:)

Well… is he hilarious/awesome? Cause then it wouldn’t matter.

Call people out when they start staring at you. Loudly interrogate them, and add a ghetto flair to it. That stops most people.

It’s understandable that you feel that way; almost anyone who says they don’t care what people think and that it doesn’t matter how people look is full of it. You just have to decide whether his friendship is worth the embarrassment. If you’re too embarrassed to be around him, you two probably shouldn’t be friends anyway.

Why does it even matter? It’s not like you’re friends with him anyway, right? OH. WAIT. You “are”.

Oh come on. Do you really need people to tell you that you shouldn’t pick friends on how they look?

Also, what if the people that are staring like his new look? Ever thought about that?

You know, a lot of us really are grown up enough not to care. Once you’re out of high school, no one really cares what you look like or how you dress.

Yeah, think about how many girls (and guys) swooned over Adam Lambert. :)

“Yeah, think about how many girls (and guys) swooned over Adam Lambert.”
MEEEE <3

i mean…valid point, indeed ;)
