Re: Identity Confirmation Pending for her PIN number

How long does one wait for this confirmation? Apparently it is needed before you can fill out the FAFSA forms.

I am filling out the FAFSA for my daughter. Her college as recommended that it be submitted by today. We just finished meeting our accountant and I have the information I need.

I can't get past the first page. HELP!

you may not be able to sign and submit…but u can complete it…i got my PIN pretty quickly…takes about 3 weeks i think to use IDOL anyways…but u can send it with out IDOC then submit after…after I sent for the PIN…I was able to fill it out…go back in and sign in

Thanks…

I have a PIN which I got when I submitted for my DS 4 years ago. Her’s is not approved. How do you complete without her pin? I can’t get past the first page. No next button.

Not sure what IDOL or IDOC mean.

GCMom…the FAFSA PIN has nothing whatsoever to do with IDOC.

To the OP…sometimes it takes time for the PIN to be issued. I hope you applied for one for the student AND for one of the parents. You need both.

Some time as in an hour or some time as in weeks?

Somehow I missed that you needed a lot of lead time before you could submit the FAFSA. When I filled out the estimate version a few weeks ago, I did not see anything that said I should apply for her pin number weeks in advance.

Still…did you fill out and submit that estimated FAFSA? You would have needed the PINs to do that.

I filled it out but I did not submit it. Just did it to see how complicated it would be. I have my pin. The estimate did not require a PIN for my daughter just to enter the information. Since I didn’t try to submit it, I didn’t realize I would need to plan ahead for her PIN.
