Cutting it too close in terms of time?

D20 has applied ED for a school with application and FA deadlines of November 15. Her application was submitted on October 11 and we filed the FAFSA and CSS on October 18. The school has all of her application materials but the FA things seem to be all over the place. The school marked off receiving the CSS on October 31 but the FAFSA shows as missing. There is a list of additional items they need and we got an email from the school saying they needed additional materials submitted through IDOC and would receive an email with login info from the College Board (which we haven’t seen). I called CB to ask about IDOC login and they said they haven’t seen the request from the college yet and can’t do anything about it until they do. The deadline is less than 2 weeks away and I am getting concerned about not being able to provide all of the items in time. We are first timers and I am wondering if we applied too late. Do others have experience with IDOC? How long should this all be taking?

Keep checking…and check your spam folder too. Sometimes info gets sent to spam.

Just submit the IDOc stuff as soon as you get the information for doing so.

If it’s still one week out, I’d contact the college financial aid office.

If the school uses the CSS Profile, really THAT is the financial data they will use to award their institutional need based aid. If your kid is entitled to the Pell Grant, the deadline for that won’t have passed…at all.

Thank you, @thumper1! I will keep checking for the email and will have my daughter call if I don’t see anything mid-week.

Hoping others reply here. It’s been a LONG while since I completed a Profile, and only one of our kids had IDOC schools. Honestly, I don’t even remember the process…but I do remember…it wasn’t electronic. We had to copy and mail everything. A big PITA. Glad the times have changed!
