One of my reccomeder made a really good letter of Recommendation that shows who I am. However, at the end of the letter she makes reference to an Ivy League school. I applied to 4 competitive schools and they are receiving this letter. Should I call admission about the mistake, and also discuss in the interview of the school,. How should I write the email or approach the school in telling the mistake

Please give me all the advice you can.

My academic background is strong, and extracurriculars as well, SAT average,.

Have ur teacher email them, acknowledging her mistake.

On another note, I wouldnt worry. Sounds pretty stupid to penalize a student for a teachers mistake. Before this year, a separate rec was sent to all unis. So teachers would write specific names on each rec, then mail. The online system uses automatic forwarding. Colleges do acknowledge this.

Now if u wrote the wrong name on an essay, that is ur fault. And ur screwed. Dont worry about recs

Oh, for goodness sakes - LEAVE IT ALONE!

The schools know perfectly well that teachers are writing recommendations for dozens of students (if not more) and sometimes lose track of the unimportant details. And, I hate to say it, but in a recommendation about you, the name of the school you’re applying to is an unimportant detail.

Further, commenting on the error only draws attention to it.

Finally . . . what exactly were you planning to say about this to your interviewer? That the person who was kind enough and generous enough with his or her time to write you a recommendation is an idiot (or some such)? How exactly would that raise anyone’s opinion of you?

P.S. With regard to what Muhammad said about getting the college’s name wrong in one of your own essays, that’s nonsense also. Again, it happens all the time and no one is going to take it seriously.
