emerson early action class of 2022

Daughter was admitted Media Studies with a $6k scholarship. She’s waiting to hear on some other schools, but this is a great option. 3.33 GPA unweighted, 1410 SAT. Not a lot of school activities, but big commitment to one activity outside of school. Congratulations to everyone who has heard, and good luck to others!

Accepted into Writing, Lit & Publishing major plus Honors College w. $24,000 Trustee’s scholarship!!! SO excited, Emerson is my second choice school. And since I missed the deadline for my first choice’s merit scholarships (BU) I’ll probably be seeing many of you guys in the fall!!

They will send you something in the late summer and they will assign your first semester classes for you. You do not need to go to Boston for this. Congratulations!!

Did anyone actually get an email notifying them of their admission or at least to check their portal for an update? Once I saw on this forum that decisions were about to be released, I told my son to check his portal. But Emerson never actually notified him directly of his admission.

@SGW811 I got an email that there was an update on my admissions status and to check the portal.

Accepted to BCE with Spotlight scholarship. Delayed posting here because a bit stunned that scholarship wasn’t as much (by a lot) compared to other schools. Emerson is #1 (and 2 & 3) choice school. Trying to figure out how to make it work without taking on ridiculous debt. Should have bought some bitcoin two years ago.

Congrats to all. Even deferred people should remain hopeful—many (even those awarded big scholarships) choose to NOT attend Emerson.

i made an account just because people were interested in stats for getting into honors program: 4.3 gpa weighted (i think a 3.8 uw but my school doesn’t give that info), 1370 on sat (750 eng, 620 math) and a 31 on the act (34 eng, 35 reading, 27 math). i had tons of extracurriculars freshman year, that changed sophomore year on because i got into a magnet program for the arts for dance where i would leave school early and dance through this school until around 5 pm. i did lots of volunteer work via service clubs and on my own throughout high school. congratulations everyone!!

Does anyone know when the need-based awards for early action people (accepted) will be posted?

@DryChickenMom Mid to end of January. I spoke directly with a rep from their financial aid department and that was what he told me. For what it’s worth, they seem to be reviewing FAFSA info because I got an email a few days ago requesting more financial documents.
