Hey everyone. I was an early action Emerson applicant for MT, and I keep checking the status of my “Admission Decision”. In the fall, I was deferred, and put back into the audition pool. Has ANYONE heard any news yet, whether it was an acceptance or rejection or waitlist? You could either be a regular decision applicant or early action applicant still waiting for a decision. Thanks
Nothing for my D.
@4gsmom ok thanks for letting me know. Best of luck to her!
Update to all- Emerson will be emailing all applicants on March 15th. Be sure to check your email AND your portal on that date! BAL to everyone
We are waiting on Emerson as well, thank you for the update.
Does this apply to those who applied and auditioned for theatre performance too?
Portal now says decisions live tomorrow at 4—BAL everyone
I did @hopeful1212
I applied to Emerson and they said my application is incomplete and I realized it was because they didn’t get one of my college credits. I’m in high school but took one college class. It was received today. Do you think this will disqualify me from being accepted because it made my application incomplete until today???
D just checked the portal…wait listed!!!
Wait listed.
Why did my portal not change
How do you know which program you are wait listed for?
Wait listed as well. Does that mean to the program you applied to?
I applied for the MTmajor and received an acceptance into their Theatre and Performance BFA program!!! Does anyone know what the difference between the 2 majors are, and how many are usually in the BFA Theatre and Performance class??? Thanks and good luck to all!!!
I forgot that once upon a time I wanted to apply to Emerson. Then I got this email:
I guess I made it pretty far into the application.
I got waitlisted. Does anyone know about that process?
Congratulations @broadwaybabyyy. If I understand it correctly, the first 2 years of the Theatre and Performance BFA is about acting. I think in your junior and senior year - you can either continue in that program and focus on acting or possibly explore other theater disciplines such as dramaturgy, etc… OR you could also apply to do the BFA Acting program for your junior and senior year - but for that you would have to audition. I think the Theatre and Performance BFA is a very well rounded curriculum that gives you great actor training while allowing you to explore many other different facets of the theatre as well.
I got waitlisted for a BFA in acting. Does anyone know how many people they take off their waitlist or if they take any at all?? Do I have any hope?
Wondering the same thing! Daughter got wait listed for MT today. Wondering if it’s pie in the sky, or if there’s actually a chance, and if so, a ballpark percentage ???
