<p>So I'm completely stuck between Syracuse and Emerson for advertising/communication stuff. Everyone tells me to 'feel it out', but there are definite pros and cons for each to me. I love the Boston/major city atmosphere (I've grown up in a large metropolitan area my whole life), but I want a school that can give me the best education and chance at jobs and opportunities. </p>

<p>Are you admitted to the Newhouse Program or just “regular” Syracuse. Big difference. In terms of comparing programs, there is no comparison. Syracuse Newhouse is, hands down, the superior program. That being said, my daughter last year didn’t get into Newhouse and was planning on attending Syracuse with the intent of transferring into Newhouse in her second year. However, after much thought and introspection, she decided that she simply did not want to spend 4 years in Syracuse. Better program or not. She ended up in Maryland for this year and is now transferring to Emerson for next year. Emerson has a good program, its a “quirky” school but obviously better internship opportunities than Syracuse. Boston is a much better place to live than Syracuse.</p>
