Emo is the new Goth and it's making me angry.

Woohoo, I love my girls pants...............and my girlfriend loves me in my girl pants!

Oh yeah, and I'm haircut number 3 in Unearth's funny video.

****ing sick people.

you can be gay. But being gay doesent mean men wear womens pants. if you do then you are a fag.

If you are just a normal gay, I have nothing againt you(just dont get married). when you wear womens pants. Then I think your sick and dirty.

sorry.

haha have you guys ever seen the guide to be emo movie (it's probably on milkandcookies.com. it is pretty funny.

I don't mind hte occasional emo music, as long as its no screamo. Everyone has the occasional teen angst to let out. But honestly, the "emo look" has really got to go.

I don't mind the emo look, myself. I'd rather see someone wearing tight pants than pants that fall down every time you take a step.

That said, I'd be very happy if every Hot Topic in the country spontaneously combusted tomorrow.

God this thread makes me sick

you make me sick emo kid

People, there's really no reason to be angry. If you really want to get into it, there's lots of things wrong with pop culture. Look at the materialism of rappers and the pre-packaged/over sexualization look of pop stars. Just listen to the music if you enjoy it, and then if you don't want to be emo. then don't be. It's that simple. If a dude wants to wear tight pants, then that's his individual freedom, and it most definitely won't affect your life in any way. If a gay man wants to be effinate (or to come down to Unearth's level because he's too immature to stop using offensive terms like "fag"), then don't get all upset, because it doesn't hurt or affect you in any way.

I do think that some of the previous posters are exaggerating the depth of depressiveness that emo entails. I admit I find it annoying and especially because many emo kids do the "emo thing" just to be different when it's actually just another mainstream fad.

At the same time, sometimes I am annoyed with fervent emo critics (at least the indie band lovers) because them liking certain indie bands over "mainstream" bands is really just a parallel to emo kids wanting to be different.

I suppose people who try to be different and criticize others who aren't the same as them get on my nerves as opposed to people who just happen to have esoteric tastes.

Though not always successful, I try to keep an openmind. I like a variety of things from a few obsure indie bands to even one or two Dashboard songs to even Ashlee Simpson.

Agreed!... I'd have to say one of my fav. bands is something corporate.. dont know if any of you have heard of them, but I dont like them because it's "emo" or because i want to fit in... i just like the way they sound!... who cares what other people think.. i think be yourself and if that isnt good enough for someone else.. then screw them!.. who cares if they think you are dumb or a "poser"... no one asked them to like you!.. better to be hated for who you are then liked for something you're not!

Has there ever been good, mainstream music in the last 5 years???? I don't think so.

I am ten years too old to write on this thread, and I have no clue at all W T F "emo" is but to throw away all music in the last five years is foolhardy. System of a Down rocks the ass off of anything that came out since GNR or Nirvana.

The Strokes are pretty damn awsome and they're current. Nirvana was disturbingly good says that as if he actually listened to them when they were playing when he was 4. The Ramones, The Clash, The Stones, ACDC (trashy pop metal, but it rocks), hell, Lynard Skynard (Freebird!), Neil Young, i can go on.

i too have no idea w t f emo is, and im 18. Maybe its cause i don't watch MTV or whatever, but i can tell it sucks (okay, i have some idea what it is).

i don't like emo music but i don't mind otheres listening to it. in other news, i'm watching an antiperspirant commercial with amazing music right now. CERTAIN DRI. uh yeah, so, if you like emo, have fun. i don't care. :p

I like to pretend I'm emo on myspace too, with the whole black bangs in the face thing
heh
hey i started it
