Emory ED1 Class of 2015

TCJ did you get an email this morning?

so you guys request for financial aid AFTER you get accepted? Can someone explain to me how that works. Basically my email stated that my OPUS had been updated because on Tuesday i re-sent in my ED agreement which previously said “initiated”. The email said they have a massive amount of files that need to get organized, so some things take longer to show up on OPUS. It also said that all of the information we receive about acceptance, etc. will be sent via email so make sure you are connected

I guess all this last minute updates are proof that we ARE getting our results on wednesday… OPUS seems to be having a LOT of problems this year…

begood no I didnt. Lizzie, I checked off the FA box when I sent in my app Nov. 1. My OPUS was just updated (within the hour) saying I need to do 3 FA forms (there was a 4th, CSS Profile, but my parents already did it). They all say 2011-2012. You could be right. Obviously this doesn’t mean I’m in, but it is interesting. I’m asking, anyone else apply for FA and have these forms pop up?

lizzi^No, we request it before, and complete the CSS Profile form, which is customized for Emory. Then after January 2011, we are to complete FAFSA for us to have financial aid finalized/reevaluated.

This site explains it well. <a href=“Personal Finance Advice - Personal Financial Management - MarketWatch”>Personal Finance Advice - Personal Financial Management - MarketWatch;

I HAVE THOSE NEW FORMS TOO!! They were not there this morning. Did everyone get them uploaded now as initiated but not completed!? I know that they cannot be completed until Jan 1 but why would they start to initiate these forms if we are going to be denied next week? Can anyone confirm or deny that they have these forms popping up only recently? 11-12 Student 2010 Tax Return, 11-12 Parent 2010 Tax Returns, 11-12 FAFSA Application

yeah but maybe it is an indication of your acceptance. if you did request for it, and now they are asking for more forms, maybe that means you were accepted and now they need to figure out the FA portion of it. Also, I think this is a good sign. It could show that OPUS is moving and they are trying to finish things up on their end

Right - alexistaylor, I have those three to do. Lizzie i take it you didn’t apply for FA? They may just put it up for all FA applicants, it definitely DOES NOT mean we’re in. how can it? They could be toying with us.

Yeah, I think they are putting them on FA applicants only.
I didn’t apply for FA (can’t anyways…) and I don’t have any new “to do items”

It doesn’t mean you are definitely in but it is a good sign, alexistaylor is right. Why would they ask for that and then deny you?

TJC, I don’t think they would actually “toy with us.”

I know it doesn’t confirm acceptance, but it is a positive sign knowing that they are loading items onto OPUS.

An applicant from last year would be helpful here…

I don’t know - I won’t think much of it, I just want the decision soon.

^amen…

Lol yeah I know they’re not toying with us. Anyone know what time on Wednesday? 12:00 am? 5:00 pm?

If they have time to upload items on OPUS… I’d rather have them post our decisions than FA “to do items”! The latter can wait rightt??

im still hoping for saturday 12:00 am but if they’ve sent them the past 3 years at sat 12:12am they will prob do the same for wednesday

I think since I know it’s coming out on Dec 15th I am a bit more calm, but still I wonder if all decisions have been made.

I want to find someone who applied for FA and doesn’t have these new items. That would help us make better assumptions.

Looking at last years thread, 2 people mentioned the FA forms on opus. One had them, one didn’t. Both ended up getting in ED. Thus, these forms don’t mean ANYTHING!

someone have their guidance counselor call and ask tomorrow! I just need a final date so I can actually relax again
