Emory has went to the waitlist

My counselor always emails me back when I ask questions and they don’t have time to reply to updates but they do receive them my counselor always tells me she adds my stuff to my file, I email her once a week I usually say hello and tell her updates. I really love my counselor so try to make a good relationship

Sorry I forgot to say that I got no reply.
I guess they are too busy. We re so many in the WL…

Wait… What?
Emoryguy, you sent her your new report card and all? It makes sense she replies. I’m on semesters, so I get mine later. No updates…

Wait how do you know who your counselor is?

I’m off the waitlist woohoo ! got off today.

Congrats diabsauce! How did they notify you? And when did u put that you wanted to know by?

Diablo please put where you live, when you put you would be notified by, what you did, and race please

why does where he live matter? I thought Emory decided based on the alphabet of your last name…

I sent an email stating my interest (during this past weekend) and 2 days later my admissions officer emailed me back telling me to call .

oh and @IBathlete i told them i wanted to know by Aug. 24th (first day of school for Emory)

Congrats!!
At what time of the day did you get the email?
( IB english paper 1 exam tomorrow. Good luck for the IB students! )

thanks…At about 3pm …good luck with your exam.

Thank you,
congrats again~

congratrs diablosauce! you must be so happy! I hope I can get off the waitlist as well, that would be the best thing ever. :)

if you have yet to be notified, does that mean it’s unlikely you’ve been accepted off the waitlist?

I also sent in a CD with a song that I wrote about why Emory should accept me. I know it won’t help my chances, but it was fun recording it and what not. :] I asked them if they had recieved my materials, and they said, “Thank you for your message and the updated materials. While we cannot scan a copy of your CD into our online system, please know that we have made note of this item in addition to your emails.”

What exactly does that mean?

Who do you all email to update the information?
I update through the waitlisting site… Is that a bad way?

Hi everybody. I got off the waitlist 20 minutes ago, so I thought my information might be helpful. I am BEYOND excited. Emory is far and away my top choice!

If you’re curious about my stats:

SAT: 2040 total (790 CR, 640 math, 710 writing)
GPA: 3.43 unweighted (not the best)
extracurrics: really extensive. tons of leadership (head lawyer, director, editor, vice-president) and I’ve shown a lot of commitment through the years. My ECs were probably my strongest point
essays: pretty good, I think. I was specific and passionate in my supplement
recs: good, I imagine
hook: I think being from upstate new york may have helped, but I’m not sure. My mother went to graduate school there

I didn’t do anything particularly special to get off. I filled out the information online required to claim a spot, and when updating Emory on my accomplishments, I said I would go if admitted. I actually started an additional letter today on my reasons for loving the school, but I guess I didn’t need it.

Good luck to everybody! I still don’t know what made the accept me, but like I said before, it could be geographical. I know in 2009 2 people from my school were accepted off the waitlist.
Hope it helps

Also,

race: white
gender: female
how I was notified: they called me and followed up with an email.
They said only a select few are being taken off, but I hope all of you are able to get in! Good luck, once again

Congrats Sri! BTW they sent out an email about getting housing if you’re accepted off of the wait list. Is it safe to say everyone got one of those?
