sigh

ak7777,

If you ever replied to the main Emory waitlist email, your counselor must have emailed you back…? That’s how I found out.

ak7777 – I just called Admissions, gave them my daughter’s name, and they gave me the name and email address of her counselor.

Do people get rejected off the wait list as others get admitted or does the university notify the people who weren’t accepted off the wait list in the end? In other words, has anyone been rejected off the wait list yet?

someone previously said they’ve been rejected off of it, but thats the only person I’ve heard of

Got an email from Emory checking in with me making sure I was still interested in staying in the wait list. I almost got an heart attack when I saw Emory had sent it. Why do they do this to me? :(

i got it too.
think they are cleaning up people who dont want to continue staying on there for another round of phone calls.

I found my counselor by going to the admission website. I think they divided up in regions and last names.

I just looked for my high school state.

Anyway, as it turned out, my counselor was not very enthusiastic. I really want to go! My counselor said they normally have about 800 people on the waitlist. So I dont know if the info of 1000 something people is entirely accurate.

by the end of may, they will send you a notification on whether you are taken off or not, or if they would give you the conditional transferring offfer.

also, i emailed oxford at emory and they said they have not figured out whether they are full or not. So they dont even know how many they would take off the WL.

i’m thinking they are waiting for Emory to be done first…

I did not get the email asking if I was interested… Mine was titled campus tip or something.

^^^so is mine.
but it has a link and the email asks to re-indicate again. I think …
I just kinda skimmed through it so maybe i am wrong.

Really? I dont think we reindicate… I skimmed it also haha

lol nocrackup.
well, i dont think it’s important unless you don’t want to stay on the wait list any more.
so yeah, what ever.

" we have called students to offer admission from the wait list as early as late April and have continued through mid-May" < mid May is in 5 days…
the transfer offers would be horrible in my opinion. Waiting another year to attend Emory.
I don’t know. I really hope that all of us get ‘the’ email or ‘the’ call soon.

I got in today after receiving an email from Nicolai Lundy saying I should call him as soon as possible to “discuss my senior year”. I dropped what I was doing to call him back and I got the good news! Good Luck to everyone else!

Was nr Lundy your counselor?
Anyway, congrats!!

bestmemories2015, I hope we do! I remember you from the ED2 thread as well and it’d be nice to meet you at Emory! AHH!!! My counselor didn’t really seem to return my emails personally or anything. I just got a “thank you for your interest” reply once…

bestmemories: Tim Fields was my counselor, im not sure why nicolai called me.

Me too!! I got it ONCE. And then, she just basically didn’t reply to any of my emails. Me too haha i remember you!
It would be so nice to see you. We went through the same pain haha…

Oh okay thanks. Are you from the states? ( since you had to call him )

@skikid419, what did you do to show your interest at emory? i sent in my updated resume, new rec from my internship supervisor and music supplement cd last week. but i never spoke to any of the counselors (i didnt even know that you could… ) do you know what i could do more to show my interest?

"Hello _____,

I am your waitlist counselor. You can feel free to let me know of any updates or information. We have your most recent grades so there is nothing else I need from you (since you sent an email, which is the best thing you can do to help your chances with the waitlist).

Nicolai Lundy"

That’s what I received after emailing Emory… Don’t know how my chances are. :[ On a good note… if I go instate, it’ll be a lot easier and I won’t stress myself out… I suppose. xP
