Emory hasn't downloaded my recommendations yet?

Hi there, I looked on my CA today and all of my RD schools have already downloaded my teacher recommendations, but Emory hasn't. It says "submitted 10/31/2012" instead of "downloaded by college" though I sent in my CA, supplements, and payments on December 31st. Should I contact them?

So you submitted everything yesterday and you’re concerned they haven’t downloaded them already? Admissions is on a holiday right now and will be until the 3rd [Holiday FAQs | Emory College of Arts and Sciences Admission](Admission | Emory University | Atlanta GA) Also do you realize that Emory has tens of thousands of applicants? They can’t get to every app as soon as the student submits them.

The teachers recommendations were submitted to the Common App on October 31st. That doesn’t mean they were submitted to Emory on the same day. That requires paying the application fee which you did yesterday.

Well, they downloaded my CA already, I thought it was weird that they didn’t download my recs as well.

Emory’s administration is incompetent if you haven’t realized that already. Your situation doesn’t surprise. Go ahead and call, but I doubt that anyone will return your phone call. Also, I can’t imagine that anyone in the admissions department with half a brain actually reads the teachers recommendations or essays. Emory will admit almost anyone that can improve their average admission statistics and lives an affluent enough area where they can safely assume that you won’t need financial aid. The university is much easier to get into than you would think.
