I'm trying to pick the best school to help my chances into getting into MCG for dentistry.
I've heard that emory is very hard and thus the GPA I would get at Emory would not be as high as my GPA at UGA, which is easier. So my question is, to get into a graduate school, is it better to go to a public school with a high GPA or a renown-private school with a lower GPA?

I’m in the same situation! If Emory is affordable, choose it. Med schools will recognize the rigor of Emory and factor that in when they look at your GPA. Did you get into Honors @ UGA?

You should also look at the cost differential. Dental school on top of an undergrad degree is gonna build up some debt if your not getting any kind of money. The Emory one will look better for med school by far b/c they get a different kind of student than UGA, and no offense to UGA its a fine school, but med schools will defiantly realize that Emory is harder (i don’t think it’ll be that much more difficult).

Dental school admissions=GPA+DAT scores…and that’s it…cut and dry…go where you can get the higher GPA for undergrad and then try for Ivy dental (Penn, Columbia)…

If you’re looking at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG?) for dental school, I think either one is fine. You might want to check with UGA and Emory and see what their success rate is for getting students into the MCG dental school (or any other dental school).
