Emory/Oxford Admission

Hey! Okay, so I'm applying to colleges right now. I'm a senior in a competitive high school in South Florida. I was just wondering if you guys think I have a decent chance of getting into Emory or Oxford at Emory. I'm early decisioning both.

Grades: 5 C's on my transcripts, most from freshman year. everything else is an A or B
Extracurriculars: 300+ service hours, volleyball team, Free The Children (club), Birthday Wish secretary (club), graduating with pre-law program and will complete a semester of internship starting January 2014
Major: Business/Law
ACT: 28 (yeah I know it's low, I retook it and got the same exact score, I MAY be retaking it in December, but since I'm apply ED they won't see my December score anyways)
Letters of Rec: I don't know how they are because out school doesn't allow us to read them

Do you think I have a decent chance at getting in? I know Emory is a stretch, but what about Oxford? Are my chances better because I'm applying early decision? Also, I qualify as Asian (I'm Bengali) but I didn't fill out ethnicity on common app because my grades and my scores are not as strong as many of the Asian kids in my school, so will that work against or with me? I also attended a summer information session about Emory, attended the college visit at my high school, and have exchanged emails with the South Florida Emory representative. My cousin graduated from the Emory a couple years ago, does that help? Also, my counselor told me I qualify as first generation, so will that do anything for me?

I really don't care which school I get into, I just want to get into one because it's the same thing (to me.) But yeah, it's my dream school. Do you guys think I have a chance at getting in?

***I've posted this before, but I think it was in the wrong forum. I'm new so I'm sorry if you've seen this more than once.

maybe Oxford. Go for it (can you do a dual app. ED?)! Plus, since you are pre-law/business, I think starting at Oxford will give you perhaps a more solid grounding in the first two years than on main campus (the courses have more rigor, but in a good way, and you get to really know your faculty members).

So do you think my applying ED will help me? Honestly, do you think I have a solid chance at Oxford? Also, I appreciate your input :)

Yes, ACT looks fine (somewhere in the mid-50 range for admitted students), don’t know about GPA (going to hope it ends up 3.3-3.7 range when smoke clears). Either way, ED should help as you may be close to the norm at Oxford (even for a regular decision applicant) and ED shows some commitment.

Okay, great! Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it
