Emory/Oxford-Emory Cost

How the financial aid work at emory/oxford-emory for families with low incomes ? Would going there make me come out of college with a lot of debt ?

Can't say for sure.

This is the first year for Emory Advantage and everyone is still awaiting FA awards to be sent out. Google Emory Advantage and read up on it.

Check back in a few weeks after awards are out and see how people answer then.

motherofmine - thanks for the post
but for emory advantage does it apply to oxford-emory too ?
and will this make emory harder to get accepted into if it becomes more affordable ?

Yes Emory Advantage applies to Oxford too.

And yes, I would think that if the school becomes more affordable then it will become even more competitive for students to get into. But it may take a while for parents/students to catch on to the new financial aid package offered.

i have another question. Would the emory advantage work in conjunction to FAFSA or are they independent in the sense that if i get one i would still be eligible for the other?

I haven’t heard anything from Emory/Oxford-Emory about how much financial aid they are giving me… and it’s already April. Does that mean they are not giving me any aid?

SarangJae, your financial aid package should be on OPUS for you to see. Log into your OPUS Account and on the left hand side of the page click on the financial aid link for the school. If you don’t have it there, or can’t log into OPUS then give the financial aid office a call Monday morning.

sometimes they are just slow…
i didnt get mine until mid/late summer.
and oxford gives u more aid than emory 99% of the time.
and i kno some kids that go for free and some that pay the full amount in cash so it all depends on ur income.
