Financial Aid for Waitlist

Hey guys,

I was recently put on the waitlist for both Oxford and Emory. I am looking to accept the waitlist position and hopefully get accepted into Emory/Oxford. However, I have noticed some people say that the Financial Aid is horrible for people on the waitlist, and that it severely hurts your chance of being taken off of the waitlist. On the Emory website, it says that Emory is still need-blind, even on the waitlist. I am a low-income applicant, so should I even bother trying to get accepted from the waitlist? My EFC is below $5000 so I really am in need of the FA.

Thanks you!

Personally, I would believe what Emory puts on their website.

Don’t worry Emory provides the same amount of aid to waitlist students. I got off the waitlist. My family is in the same income bracket and I only have to borrow 5500 a year plus EFC which is normal price for students from family that make below 50,000. I can’t believe I just found out about the Emory Advantage. Don’t listen to those post from people that say you should say you don’t want aid, I highly doubt it helps you any better and you will be screwing both yourself and your family over in the process.

hii … i am an IB student and I want to know that will does emory gives FA ? and if they do then what is the required score ?

Emory’s FA is solely need based and has does not take your IB score into account. also, there’s no aid for international students.
